Mechanical Extrication Needed In Tuesday Afternoon Accident On Highway 71 Near Breda

Authorities have released the official report regarding a two-vehicle rollover accident on U.S. Highway 71 near Breda on Tuesday afternoon. According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 2:28 p.m. south of the intersection with 110 th Street. Their investigation revealed 27-year-old Darion Dru Bradley of Arcadia was traveling southbound on 71 in a 2006 Dodge Durango when he fell asleep at the wheel. His vehicle then collided with the rear driver’s side of a southbound 1999 Pontiac Firebird, driven by 46-year-old Tamie Dawn Ryken of Auburn. The Bradley Dodge then veered into the oncoming lane and overcorrected, entering the west ditch. The SUV rolled several times and struck a power pole before coming to rest upright in a field facing north. Bradley needed to be extricated from his vehicle and was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of suspected minor injuries. High Winds Cause Motorcyclist To Lose Control Saturday Afternoon

High winds are responsible for a motorcycle accident on Iowa Highway 141 west of Coon Rapids on Saturday. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, just east of Sycamore Avenue, at approximately 12:48 p.m. Fifty-four-year-old Tonya Kaye Williams of Ankeny was eastbound on a 2016 Indian Scout. She was traveling with other cyclists, when a strong gust of wind caused her to lose control and enter the north ditch. The motorcycle tipped onto its side and Williams fell off. She was transported by Carroll County Emergency Medical Services to St. Anthony Regional Hospital for treatment of a shoulder injury. There was an estimated $500 in damage to the motorcycle. Saturday afternoon winds were reported at more than 26 miles per hour from the southwest with periodic higher gusts.

Johnson And Johnson Vaccination Clinic Scheduled For Next Wednesday In Carroll

Carroll County Public Health and St. Anthony Regional Hospital will be hosting a Johnson and Johnson vaccination clinic next week. The single dose vaccine will be administered at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in the corridor outside the first-floor lab on Wednesday, May 5 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. They have been allocated 100 doses and those interested in getting vaccinated are asked to register for an appointment time by following the link included below.
