ST. ANTHONY – A search is underway for a missing Brigham Young University-Idaho student who jumped off a bridge in St. Anthony Thursday afternoon and is presumed to have drowned.
Fremont County Sheriff Len Humphries tells EastIdahoNews.com that a male student and two of his friends jumped off the Fun Farm Bridge at 699 North 2650 East while swimming in the Henrys Fork of the Snake River. It happened around 3:30 p.m.
Two of the friends swam back to shore, while the other got caught in the current and floated downstream.

One man is hospitalized after getting hit by an oncoming train south of St. Anthony on Thursday evening.
The collision occurred at 5:47 p.m. on East 400 North near 2300 East, according to a news release from Idaho State Police.
Steven Jenson, 25, of St. Anthony was driving westbound on East 400 North in a 1995 International semi-truck. A train was headed toward the intersection and for an unknown reason, he didn’t stop.
The train hit him on the passenger side and his truck burst into flames.

ST. ANTHONY, Idaho (KLIX)-A truck driver was flown to the hospital when his truck was struck by a train in eastern Idaho Thursday afternoon.
According to Idaho State Police, Steven Jenson, 25, of St. Anthony was pulled from his semi-truck by bystanders after it had been hit by the train on the passenger side at around 5:47 p.m. in St. Anthony. Jenson was flown to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
ISP said in a statement the driver failed to yield at the rail road crossing. The Fremont County Sheriff s Office, St. Anthony Police Department, Fremont County EMS, and South Fremont Fire all responded to the scene.

IDAHO FALLS – If you have old, expired medication in your medicine cabinet, organizations throughout eastern Idaho want to help you get rid of them.
The Drug Enforcement Administration is partnering with the Idaho Office of Drug Policy, Center for HOPE, Eastern Idaho Public Health, the Bonneville Youth Development Coalition, Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho Falls Police Department and St. Anthony Police Department for the 11th annual Drug Take-Back Day.
The event will allow community members to safely and securely dispose of any unused or expired prescriptions and help prevent drug misuse in Idaho. Between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., you can drop off unwanted medication at the College of Eastern Idaho in Idaho Falls or Broulim’s at 301 Aspen Square Street in St. Anthony.
