The calendar has turned to June, which usually means two things – South Carolina residents and tourists have begun flocking to our beautiful beaches, lakes and rivers; and, more importantly for our younger residents, school is out for the summer.
COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is launching a new digital series, called Carolina Snaps, across its platforms in June. Highlighting South Carolina people, places and important events in history, new episodes will be published on the @SouthCarolinaETV Facebook page weekdays at 1 p.m., starting Thursday, June 3.
From small towns to Southern icons, each 60-second episode is packed with just the type of enriching educational content and celebration of culture that viewers have come to expect from SCETV’s storytelling.
A Conversation with Will Willimon immediately after the network premiere of
A Will to Preach, a half-hour documentary film examining the perspective and impact of the renowned minister, on Thursday, May 27.
Airing at 9:30 p.m.,
A Will to Preach was produced by Susie Films and examines Willimon’s perspective and theology. The film touches on several characteristics of his preaching style, including his affinity for storytelling, his use of laughter and his desire to act as a provocateur, emphasizing the radicality of Jesus Christ. The project features archived footage of past sermons delivered by Willimon, as well as interviews with students, colleagues at Duke Divinity School, fellow ministers and his wife, Patsy Willimon. COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina ETV (SCETV) received a total of 13 Telly awards when the list of winners was released on Tuesday, May 25. The network was honored with six silver trophies and seven bronze trophies.
Now in its 42nd year, the Telly Awards annually showcase the best work created within television and across video for all screens. Receiving more than 12,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents, Telly Award winners represent work from some of the most respected advertising agencies, television stations, production companies and publishers from around the world.
Making it Grow, SCETV’s weekly, live-interactive television program about gardening received two awards for two different segments.
