Florence Miailhe will be unveiling her first feature-length offering,
The Crossing, in the main competition of the 60
th edition of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival (14-19 June). Miailhe has an award-winning animation career under her belt, as she has spearheaded a style of experimental animation dubbed “motion paintings”. This unique technique entails painting images directly in front of a camera while capturing each modified frame, and she is recognised for her hand-draw painting on glass. “As with my earlier short films, I chose the animation of painting and sand under the camera,” said Miailhe.
