NTDC enhances power stability May 11, 2021 LAHORE: The National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDC) is continuing work on its projects of transmission lines and grid stations at a fast pace across the country, besides working on the stability of power transmission system in south, a statement said on Monday. In this regard, NTDC’s project delivery team of Hyderabad has installed 3x22 MVAR Shunt reactors (make TBEA, China) on a 152km-long 500kV Dadu-Jamshoro transmission line, emanating from 500kV Dadu Grid Station. The shunt reactors have been completed with the cost of Rs340 million and are energised successfully. A spokesman for the company said the newly installed shunt reactors will help control Power system voltages more efficiently and would enhance the NTDC’s overall power system stability.

According to the NTDC spokesperson, the company is also working on stability of power transmission system in the south. ‘Kite-flying causes massive disruptions in power transmission’ NTDC authorities have taken up the matter with the district administration APP April 23, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Kite flying has been a potential threat to human lives as many cases have been reported mostly in Punjab of kites with sharp metallic threads slitting throats of motorcyclists as well as pedestrians. It has now emerged that these kites also get entangled in power transmission lines causing trippings and power outages. A spokesman of National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDC) disclosed that a number of incidents of tripping at 500kV and 220kV transmission lines have been reported due to kite flying in areas of Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Gujranwala and Kasur.

NTDC completes four transmission line circuits National April 19, 2021 LAHORE: In pursuits of early completion of its projects, the National Transmission & Despatch Company Limited (NTDC) has completed four more 500 kV transmission line circuits for evacuation of electricity from power plants located in southern parts of the country. The transmission line circuits have been connected with HVDC Converter Station at Matiari. In this regard a virtual ceremony of energization of transmission lines circuits was held at Wapda House here on Sunday in the presence of Managing Director NTDC Engr Dr Khawaja Riffat Hassan and others.
