Sharing of the seats among the alliance partners has remained the most challenging part for both ruling and opposition combinations. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will be having pre-poll alliance with its coalition partner – Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), its coalition partners in the Bodoland Territorial Region- United Peoples Party, Liberal (UPPL) and Gana Surakha Party (GSP). As the BJP has dumped another coalition partner Bodoland People s Front (BPF) and is also the kingmaker in the UPPL-led BTC, the BJP is going to call the shots as far as 12 seats from Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) are concerned. The BJP may find the seat-sharing talks with the AGP tougher than expected.
