Over 150 Women Protesters Allegedly Beaten up by Kolkata Police During Protest Over Jobs, Farm Laws
According to the report, the police beat the protesters with lathis, kicked them in the abdomen, dragged them by the hair to the buses waiting to arrest them.

New Delhi: Over 150 women protesters were on Tuesday allegedly beaten up by the Kolkata Police during a protest march against the farm laws and demand for jobs and security for women in the city, news reports said.
More than 200 activists including members of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) were arrested and taken to Lalbazar headquarters of the Kolkata Police,

Several women farmer organizations’ in the country have joined hands with Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) in its national call of Mahila Kisan Divas (women farmers day) and decided to observe January 18 as Women Farmer’ Day.
This is very likely to intensify the ongoing farmers protest at Delhi. Usually October 15 is celebrated as Women Farmers’ Day every year across the country
AIDWA stir against hike in cylinder price

Members of All India Democratic Women Association staged a protest here against the sudden hike in cooking gas cylinder price, on Sunday.
The protest was led by its Rajapalayam town secretary Mary. As part of their protest, the women garlanded LPG cylinders and put up a firewood stove to highlight that the women were forced to switch over to cooking with firewood due to lack of affordability to LPG cylinders.
Addressing the protesters, its State general secretary, P. Suganthi, said that the increase of ₹ 100 in price of gas cylinders in the last 15 days had not only hit the women who manage the family expenses, but also the hotel industry badly.
