NEW DELHI, March 7 (Xinhua) Chief Minister of India s eastern state of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee on Sunday led a protest march against the steep hike in the price of liquified petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders.
Banerjee was accompanied by thousands of supporters who set off from Darjeeling.
The protesters were holding red-colored cardboard replicas of LPG cylinders as they marched along with Banerjee and other top leaders.
Ahead of the protest, Banerjee targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led federal government for increasing the LPG prices and urged people to join the protest.
