The AIMIM will take no issue with the renaming of the airport in Maharashtra after Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, but the city s name should be left untouched, Aurangabad MP Imtiaz Jaleen said on Thursday.
His statement comes a day after Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray s proposition to rename the Aurangabad Airport after Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Thackeray urged the Centre to issue a notification to this effect at the earliest.

Hyderabad, Jan 7 : With Covid-19 vaccines all set to be rolled out, the Telangana government has urged the Centre to allocate additional doses to the state.
The request was made by Health Minister E. Rajender on Thursday during a video conference Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan had on preparedness for carrying out another Covid vaccine dry run in the state.
Rajender told the central minister that since the vaccines are being manufactured in Hyderabad, Telangana deserves to get more allocation, and that additional supplies to Telangana would help the state vaccinate cover more high-risk groups.

Mumbai, Jan 7 : After nearly a fortnight long war of words, the ruling Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) allies have decided to sit at the table and hammer out a solution to the ticklish issue of renaming Aurangabad as Sambhaji Nagar.
The matter, which almost brought the Shiv Sena-Nationalist Congress Party-Congress alliance to the brink as the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party watched in anticipation is likely to be resolved amicably , said a Congress source.

Furfura Sharif (WB): AIMIM supremo Assaduddin Owaisi on Sunday arrived at Furfura Sharif in Bengal s Hooghly district and held discussions on the state s political scenario and upcoming assembly polls with prominent Muslim leader Abbas Siddiqui, sources in his party said.
This is Owaisi s first visit to West Bengal following his announcement to contest elections in the state. Owaisi wanted to keep the meeting a secret as we were apprehensive that the TMC government would stop him from exiting the airport. From Kolkata airport, he went straight to Hooghly to meet Abbas Siddiqui. He will leave for Hyderabad in the afternoon, AIMIM state secretary Zameerul Hassan said.
