Hooghly (West Bengal) [India], February 26 (ANI): Days after Indian Secular Front (ISF) chief and Furfura Sharif cleric Abbas Siddiqui announced that his party will not oppose the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) in the upcoming West Bengal Assembly polls, his uncle Pirzada Toha Siddiqui on Friday said Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM has no place in Bengal.
Speaking to ANI, Pirzada said, Abbas is spreading lies. He is trying to malign Bengal. There has never been a division between Hindu and Muslims in Bengal. People of Bengal do not support these divisive politics. AIMIM has no place in Bengal.
Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], February 25 (ANI): All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen s (AIMIM) Kolkata wing on Thursday accused the Kolkata administration of misusing power for denying permission to party supremo Asaduddin Owaisi s first rally in the poll-bound state. Zameerul Hasan, an AIMIM leader told ANI, We had to cancel the rally as the administration didn t grant us the requisite permission. Although we sought permission ten days ago still permission was denied. We will do a press conference today at 2:00 pm. They are misusing their power. Seeking permission for the rally by adhering to the procedure is our democratic right, he added. The rally was scheduled to take place in the minority-dominated Metiabruz area of Kolkata - which falls in the parliamentary constituency represented by Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Kolkata: AIMIM supremo Asaduddin Owaisi’s first rally in Kolkata, scheduled to be held on Thursday, has been cancelled as the city police denied permission for it, party sources claimed.
Owaisi was scheduled to kick off his party’s campaign ahead of the West Bengal assembly elections with the rally in Metiabruz area of the city.
AIMIM state secretary Zameerul Hasan said the police did not give them permission for the rally.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday accused the Trinamool Congress leadership of doublespeak and hypocrisy after his party was denied permission for a public meeting in Metiaburz, ahead of the upcoming assembly polls.
Speaking to the media at party headquarters in Darusslaaam, Mr Owaisi said, “TMC MPs speak about freedom of expression, constitution, dissent in Parliament. But they have two faces. They say one thing in Delhi and do the opposite in West Bengal. If I want to conduct a public meeting there, then why are permissions being denied?” He said that the ‘secular-liberals’ who listen to these speeches in the Parliament and applaud should think about the state of affaris.
