Hi, I’m
Igor Kolar. I’m the game director for Speed Limit. I’m an industrial designer by trade, visual communications designer often by necessity, and sometimes like to pretend I’m a pixel artist.
I did the initial design and art for Speed Limit before we were able to get more competent people on board to do those things, like our lead artist Jurica Cvetko and level designer Jan Juracic.
I couldn’t find the item. I left. No joy to the cash register from me. Christmas morning 2019, I walked into the kitchen and turned on the radio to a CBC Saskatchewan station. What did I hear? “Here Comes the Sun.” Yes, sun. With all due respect to the musical talent of The Beatles, I nevertheless turned off the radio. About the second week of Advent 2020, I heard a radio announcer say, “If you’re tired of Christmas music .” What Christmas music? All I’d heard were so-called country and western with performers using a redneck Texan language. “Mah wahf and ah ain’t gunna see each other nomo and it’s all ona count uf you.”
1. Switch to. phone-line broadband?
This is still the most commonly available type of broadband to Irish households, even though fibre and cable, between them, are catching up fast.
Unless you’re one of the 544,000 rural homes designated as being in the ‘intervention area’ for the National Broadband Plan, your phone line should support at least 30Mbs, which is good enough to do all the basics (although if you have a large home, you’ll need separate devices to spread the signal effectively).
All phone lines are owned by Eir. About a dozen operators sell broadband over them. Other than Eir itself, the biggest ones are Vodafone and Sky. Others include Digiweb and Magnet.
