The interest rate policy is the much-awaited occasion for those who have bucks, who want to borrow/return bucks and those who have no bucks at all. The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the State Bank of Pakistan said on Friday that the policy rate would remain at 7% for the next two months.
According to the statement, the MPC has been heartened by an upward revision in the FY21 growth prediction to 3.94 percent since its last meeting in March. “The MPC noted that this confirms the strength of the broad-based economic rebound underway since the start of the fiscal year, on the back of targeted fiscal measures and aggressive monetary stimulus,” it said.

LAHORE: All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) patron- in-chief Gohar Ejaz has rejected the decision of the government for Eid ul Fitr holidays from May 10-16. While expressing his concerns, he stated the decision has brought the whole country practically shut down for 10 days from May 8- 17, 2021. “Shutting down the country for 10 consecutive days is unacceptable as it would create a lot of glitches for the economy, industries, particularly the exporters who will not be able to dispatch their shipments abroad due to the complete closure of banks, ports, customs, and all other departments during excessive holidays,” he added. LAHORE: All Pakistan Textile Mills Association leader Gohar Ejaz has deplored the decision of the government for Eidul Fitr holidays from 10th to 16th May, 2021 which would bring miseries for daily wagers and impact exports.
