Maine CDC Reports 438 New COVID-19 Cases and 2 New Deaths
According to the Maine CDC s Friday update, the cumulative number of coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Maine is now at 53,434 an increase of 438 since Thursday. 40,547 of those cases are confirmed while 12,887 are deemed probable.
There were two additional deaths reported of an individual with COVID-19 bringing the total number of deaths to 750. 1,722 patients have had to be hospitalized at some point. 77 are currently hospitalized with 29 in intensive care and 13 on a ventilator.
493,489 Mainers have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 354,393 are fully vaccinated. That equates to approximately 32% of Mainers that have completed vaccinations and 44% of Mainers that have received the first of two doses of the vaccine.

Maine Averaging Over 15,000 COVID-19 Vaccine Doses a Day
According to the Maine CDC s Thursday update, 483,292 Mainers have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 340,301 are fully vaccinated. That equates to approximately 30% of Mainers that have completed vaccinations and 43% of Mainers that have received the first of two doses of the vaccine. 26,436 doses were reported as distributed on the first day that the state opened eligibility for the vaccine to Mainers 16 and over.

All Mainers 16 and older became eligible to receive the vaccine on April 7 thanks to increasing numbers of doses of the vaccine coming to Maine, including the one dose Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine.
