I ll Give Elected LG Officials Total Independence, Sule Assures Candidates

By Igbawase Ukumba Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, yesterday assured the state that he would give total independence to local council officials in the state when elected in the October 6 state local government election. Sule made the pledge shortly after the state Interim Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. John Mamman, presented the chairmanship candidates of the party for the October 6, 2021, state council polls to the governor at the Government House in Lafia. However, the governor cautioned the candidates on the forthcoming state council polls, calling on them to prepare to work hard when elected into office.

APC: Court urged to dissolve Buni-led Caretaker Committee, nullify state congresses

Mai Mala Buni The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has been asked to sack the Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker/Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and nullify all the actions taken by the committee so far. The request forms part of the reliefs in a suit marked: FCT/HC/CV/1824/2021 filed by Okosisi Emeka Ngwu, who claimed to be a member of the APC. Listed as defendants are the APC and all members of the CECPC including Buni, Isiaka Oyetola, Ken Nnamani, Stella Okorete, Governor Sani Bello, Dr James Lalu, Senator Abubakar Yusuf,Hon. Akenyemi Olaide, David Leon, Abba Ali, Prof. Tahir Mamman, Ismail Ahmed and Senator Akpan Udoedehe.

APC lawmakers have planned coup, they know consequences - Gov Wike

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has claimed the rejection of electronic transmission of election results by the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led National Assembly, was tantamount to a coup against Nigerians. Wike made this comment during the official presentation of the nomination letter of ‘2020 Governor of the Year Award’ which was given to him by the management of the Leadership Media Group at the Government House, Port Harcourt. According to him, President Muhammadu Buhari’s failure to convince APC lawmakers to support the inclusion of electronic transmission of election results in the Electoral Act was proof of a plot to rig the future elections.

They said it was wrong for Nwoye to have inaugurated the ward executives even when the results of the ward committee had not been submitted by the Ward Congress Committee to the Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, CECPC. General Eze said the action was unbecoming of the party chairman. He wondered where the chairman got the results which he used to inaugurate the five committee members, even when the CECPC was yet to accept the result.
