Lagos LG poll: APC loses 2 of 377 councillorship seats to PDP, YPP July 27 Advertisement According to the results announced by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won Ward G, Yaba LCDA, while the Young Progressive Party (YPP)  became victorious in Ward D of Orile-Agege LCDA. Meanwhile, the ruling party won the chairmanship seats in all the 20 LGAs and 37 LCDAs in the state. Adeshola Thomas, the PDP Councillor-elect and Omotunde Abdul-Kareem, the YPP Councillor-elect were presented the Certificates of Return at the LASIEC headquarters in Sabo, Yaba, on Tuesday. Don decries commercialised politicking in Nigeria

Share A University of Benin (UNIBEN) lecturer, Professor Godspowe Osaretin Ikuobase, and a 2023 presidential hopeful has condemned the present politicking in Nigeria, which he noted had been commercialised. Ikuobase, who said he aimed to become the next president under the umbrella of the  All Progressives Congress (APC) lamented that those with integrity and the necessary intelligence were few in the nation’s politics. The Professor of Service Computing, who made the assertion while fielding questions from journalists in Benin City, urged people with integrity, intelligence, energy and proper planning to come into politics so as to enable the nation to get it right politically.
