Anambra election: Victor Umeh backs Soludo’s governorship aspiration

Sen.Victor Umeh, former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has given his backing to the governorship aspiration of Prof Charles Soludo, former Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN), governor.
Umeh said that Soludo as an experienced expert had a lot to offer to go by his remarkable contributions in rebuilding Nigeria economy.
He made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Awka.
According to the senator, Prof Soludo stands as the best candidate for the elective post.

A former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Senator Victor Umeh, has endorsed ex-governor of the Central Bank, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, as the next governor of Anambra State.
Umeh endorsed the APGA governorship aspirant when Soludo and his campaign team paid him a courtesy visit at his Aguluzigbo home, in the Anaocha Local Government Area of the state, on Monday.
Umeh said, “I personally have the love for Soludo, since his journey into Anambra politics. He was to be the next governor after Mr. Peter Obi, in 2013, but because APGA believes in equity, fairness and justice, the governorship slot was zoned to Anambra North that produced Chief Willie Obiano, through my effort as the then National Chairman of the party.

Three aircraft landed at the newly constructed Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri, yesterday, laying to rest controversies about the state of the airport project.
Two of the aircraft in the fleet of Air Peace Airlines landed at exactly 2:24p.m. and 2:44p.m. respectively while the third, a private jet owned by chairman of Nest Oil, Mr. Ernest Obiejesi, landed at 3:30p.m., amidst jubilation.
Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano while speaking at the test landing of aircraft at the airport, described it as the most audacious of his projects, adding that the project began in January 2020, and was completed at exactly 15 months.

Vice National Chairman of Social Democratic Party (SDP), South East, Chief Arinze Ekeleme, has said his party will win the November governorship election in Anambra State.
Ekeleme, who spoke to Daily Trust in Awka, Anambra State, said the party has adopted strategies on how to take over Anambra State government house and other states in the South East geopolitical zone.
He said one of the strategies designed to take over Anambra was throwing open the governorship ticket so that the best candidate will emerge and fly the party’s ticket.
According to him, the party will also key into the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and All Progressives Congress (APC) to win the state governorship election come November 6, 2021.
