Billie Eilish has revealed there is a lot of angry energy on her upcoming second studio album, âHappier Than Everâ.
The âYour Powerâ singer channelled a lot of anger and frustration into the songs on her hotly-anticipated follow-up to her acclaimed 2019 debut record âWhen We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?â.
She told the latest issue of British Vogue magazine - of which she is the cover star - that: âIt was very satisfying to scream. Because I was very angry. Thereâs so much anger in those songs - anger and disappointment and frustration.

Billie Eilish shocked the world on Tuesday (27/4) when she announced that she would be releasing a new album titled “Happier Than Ever”. The 19-year-old singer took to Instagram to confirm the excitement, also revealing that a new single will be released this week. Following the enthusiasm of fans, Billie then launched a complete tracklist which includes the title songs on the album. It was revealed that Billie’s new album will contain 16 songs, including title tracks such as “Billie Bossa Nova”, “Not My Responsibility,” and “Male Fantasy.”

The 19-year-old singer has been vocal in the past about her struggles with body image. She told the magazine that her body was her “deepest insecurity” and “the initial reason for my depression when I was younger,” which led to a wardrobe dominated by baggy clothes.
“It made me really offended when people were like, ‘Good for her for feeling comfortable in her bigger skin,’” she told the publication. “Jesus Christ?! Good for me? F off. While many of Eilish s songs give dark and moody vibes, Your Power starts off with the light and happy acoustic guitar strum. However the lyrics bring in the melancholy sounds often associated with the Bad Guy singer. The song revolves around unhealthy power dynamics within a relationship. Two verses explore a relationship where a woman is ruined and kept in a cage by a main subject who has the power. In the chorus, Eilish gives a warning: Try not to abuse your power / I know we didn t choose to change / You might not wanna lose your power / But having it s so strange.
