The Anne Arundel County Board of Education discussed a proposed policy Wednesday that would protect a student’s right to be addressed by a name and pronoun that matches their gender identity and their right to use school bathrooms that correspond with that identity.
More than 80 students graduated Thursday from seven different Evening High School campuses around the county. Principal Nelson Horine II said Thursday’s class was the 54th graduating class of Evening High, which more than 3,000 students have graduated from in its history.
Anne Arundel County Public Schools will submit a request to the state to create a Virtual Academy for students in grades 3-12 after the Board of Education approved the program Wednesday.
