Tourism businesses say they have been left reeling after a warning from the first minister that it was highly unlikely holiday accommodation would reopen for the Easter holidays.
Nicola Sturgeon has advised people against booking a break in Scotland or overseas at the start of April.
In her Covid update statement to MSPs at Holyrood on Tuesday, she said it was hard to overstate the necessity of being careful, cautious and gradual as we exit this lockdown .
Ms Sturgeon said this meant continuing to abide by stay-at-home rules.

Ernie Hardeman, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced $5 million in funding for agriculture and horticulture societies across the province last week.
“This funding will help support these societies during a difficult period so they can operate future fall fairs and exhibits and participate in our future economic recovery,” said Hardeman in a press release.
The offence happened at an address on North Anderson Drive in the city on June 17.
Roberts, a prisoner of HMP Grampian, was previously handed an extended sentence with four-and-a-half years in prison and a further two years on licence, after admitting assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and permanent impairment.
Sentence had been deferred on Snelling, of King Street, Aberdeen, but it has now emerged the Crown and the defence could not reach an agreement on the extent to which he was involved in the clean-up operation.
Defence agent Peter Shepherd stated his client had not actually been involved with the physical cleaning up, using bleach and powder, but had told others to do it.
