Dear Students:
As you begin the final week of the semester, I want to share how incredibly proud I am of your hard work, your commitment and your perseverance amidst a global pandemic. When we began the academic year together last fall, I shared that this year would look different than years past. And, in some ways it did. But, in so many ways it looked the same, and I credit that to our entire campus community. All those in the WKU Family stepped up to care for and support one another - and sometimes even push when needed. What we’ve experienced together on the Hill this year will never be forgotten. In the years and decades to come, generations beyond us will both study and reflect on the year of COVID-19. As the present becomes the past, and we move forward, we each will carry our experience and memories of this year with us. I hope that you recall fondly your WKU Family and the spirit that guided us so successfully week-to-week, month-to-month and all
April 13: In-Room Restriction Lifted – In-Person Courses and Co-Curricular Programs May Resume on Wednesday
Dear Students,
I want to begin with a thank you. Over the past eleven days, including this past weekend, you have honored our in-room restriction policy and worked hard to adhere to public health protocols. As a result, beginning with last Wednesday’s testing, we have brought down COVID-19 cases to low single digits. Based on consultation with our medical advisors at the Mayo Clinic, we are confident that we have contained the outbreak that began with social gatherings on the weekend of March 26 and 27.

April 8: COVID-19 Campus Update
Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
I write this afternoon to provide you with an update about COVID-19 as of 12:00 p.m. today and the need to extend in-room restriction through next Tuesday, April 13.
COVID-19 Testing Results and Contact Tracing
Early this morning, we received the full set of results of Wednesday’s student PCR tests. From yesterday’s PCR and antigen tests, two students tested positive for COVID-19. Both of these students were previously identified as close contacts and already in close contact quarantine. Our total number of active student cases as of 12:00 p.m. today is 74.
Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
We are writing to provide an update about vaccine eligibility and distribution to college students in Vermont. Many of you have asked questions this week about Vermont’s vaccination plans and policies. While we do not have all the answers, we wanted to provide the information we have at this time.
Middlebury has been working closely with the state of Vermont, the Vermont Department of Health, and other colleges and universities throughout the pandemic. Our goal is to facilitate vaccination of as many people as possible, as quickly as we can. We will continue working with Governor Phil Scott’s administration and the Vermont Department of Health toward this goal. If the vaccine allocation will not allow for our students to be vaccinated on campus, we will continue to provide guidance to students on how they can best receive the vaccine.
