Philadelphia man turns himself in for accidental shooting

UPPER GWYNEDD — A Philadelphia man has turned himself in to police to face charges in an accidental shooting that left an Upper Gwynedd man severely injured last month. Kashaan Moses, 25, of the 500 block of N. Creighton Street in Philadelphia now faces aggravated assault and other charges stemming from the April 10 accidental shooting. He made a very poor judgment decision that s going to affect the rest of his life, said Upper Gwynedd Police Chief David Duffy. - Advertisement - The victim s injuries are really horrible. They re really tragic, and I really feel for the victim and his family, he said. According to Duffy and the police criminal complaint against Moses, police responded to a call around 8 a.m. on April 10 for a reported shooting at a single-family home on the 600 block of Rosemont Avenue, at a home owned and operated by Jewish Employment and Vocational Service (JEVS) and used to house three residents who are disabled and/or have special needs.

On April 9, Moses arrived at a JEVS residential group home on the 600 block of Rosemont Avenue in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, to work a night shift and take care of three people who lived at the house, including 71-year-old Thomas Lavin. Moses’ job was to keep them safe, wake them up in the morning, serve them breakfast and give them any medication they needed. 

One killed in early morning DeKalb Pike accident

LOWER GWYNEDD — One person was killed and two others injured in an accident on DeKalb Pike early Thursday morning. According to Lower Gwynedd Township Police Department, the accident took place at roughly 3:28 a.m. on the 500 block of DeKalb Pike between Greycliffe Lane and Grasshopper Lane.  Police said their investigation has revealed that a sedan occupied by three adults hit a fuel truck in the rear, and the driver of the fuel truck was not hurt. Two of the occupants of the sedan were seriously injured and the third was fatally injured, according to police. - Advertisement - One of the injured was flown by medical helicopter to Temple University Hospital and the other was taken by ambulance to Abington Memorial Hospital; conditions of both were unknown as of Thursday evening.
