There is a heavy emergency presence in Watford town centre this morning. Police have cordoned off Exchange Road and traffic is being diverted off the ring road to Upton road. There are around nine police cars at the scene, and more emergency services appear to be arriving. Several ambulance services are also at the scene. At the moment it is unclear what caused the incident, but Hertfordshire Constabulary has called it a road traffic incident . A spokesperson from the constabulary said: We’re currently dealing with a road traffic incident on the ring road. Several closures have been put in place, which is causing a lot of congestion. People are asked to please avoid the area for the time being.
