Meanwhile, the endless wait for Class 10 and 12 school going children to know the exact dates for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 Board exams came to an end on the last day of the year. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Thursday (December 31) announced the CBSE 10th, 12th board exam 2021 dates.

NEW DELHI: Several states and cities in India have decided to reopen their schools, colleges and other educational institutions this month. Schools across several cities and states have continued to remain shut for over nine months ever since the government enforced the lockdown in view of the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
Most of the states are reopening the schools only for higher classes such as students of class 9 to 12 have to appear for the board exams set to take place in the first half of 2021.
Bihar: The government of Bihar has announced that the schools in the states will reopen from January 4 for students of classes 9 to 12. Apart from schools, the Nitish Kumar-led government is also reopening coaching centres, degree colleges, medical colleges, and engineering colleges across the state.

As many as 145 engineering colleges affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University are set to resume offline classes on Monday.
While the institutions have been directed to maintain less than 50% attendance, they will function primarily for project, practicals, and discussions of core subjects. The classes of third-semester MTech, MArch, MPlan, fifth-semester MCA, ninth-semester Integrated MCA, ninth-semester BArch, and seventh-semester BTech will commence initially.

Universities likely to tighten norms for college affiliations from 2021

Getting affiliated to a central university is all set to become tougher from 2021. Universities under the purview of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and University Grants Commission (UGC) are planning to tighten norms governing the granting of affiliations to institutes.
This is in the wake of a slew of fake colleges springing up and lining up for affiliations without proven track record or financial credibility.
