MANGALURU: The health department in Dakshina Kannada district will intensify the Covid-19 vaccination drive by increasing the number of centres from Friday.
The Covid-19 vaccination drive was arranged at 27 session sites on Thursday with a target to reach out to 2,459 beneficiaries from the healthcare sector. However, 1,511 persons (61.4%) received the first shot of Covishield.
The day saw 274 healthcare workers including doctors, nurses and other staff from KS Hegde Medical Academy getting the vaccine. Further, 236 staff from AJ Hospital, 220 from Father Muller Charitable Hospital, 190 from KVG Medical College, Sullia and 154 from KMC Attavar also received the vaccine.
