Four tiny young puppies were rescued from inside a Mother Lode residence after authorities discovered two emaciated dogs that appeared to have been abandoned at the residence, authorities reported this weekend.
The little brown and white pups were found Friday afternoon in Pine Grove after Amador County Sheriff’s Office deputies tried for hours without success to locate the owner of the dogs after being alerted to the abandoned adult dogs earlier that morning, the agency said.
Deputies had responded to the 14000 block of Spurlock Lane in Pine Grove just before 11 a.m. Friday to assist animal control officers with two dogs that appeared to have been abandoned at the residence. Both were emaciated and in need of immediate food and water, and animal control officers had tried to reach with the resident “on numerous occasions but received no response,” the agency said.
