The Amarillo Fire Department said a Friday night house fire resulted in no injuries.
Per a Friday evening AFD media release, at 8:22 p.m., firefighters responded to a structure fire in the 1500 block of South Houston Street, noting the first crews to arrive found a large amount of fire showing from the abandoned residence.
According to the media release, firefighters knocked the fire down from the outside then entered the building to search for occupants and resume extinguishing the fire. No one was found inside, and there were no injuries, per the AFD.
Officials indicated the Amarillo Fire Marshal s Office responded to investigate and questioned an individual who admitted to accidentally starting the fire - adding the individual was released after questioning.

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Amarillo Fire Department crews contained a house fire that occurred early this morning in north Amarillo.
Crews were dispatched at 5:30 a.m. to a home near NE 22nd Avenue and Columbine Street.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a large amount of fire and smoke showing from the rear of the home.
The fire was coming from a two-room addition and firefighters were able to contain it to that area, according to AFD.

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Ernesto Pena, 24, is facing a first degree felony charge of arson intending to damage a house of worship.
Thursday evening the Community of Christ Church, located near S. Manhattan Street and Interstate 40, was consumed by flames by the time firefighters made it to the scene at 10:38 p.m.
The Amarillo Fire Marshal’s Office determined the fire to be arson.
The fire was so severe, officials said crews were unable to enter the building and had to extinguish from the outside.

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo Fire Marshalâs Office ruled the cause of a fire at a home in northeast Amarillo as accidental.
Crews responded around 6:48 a.m. to the fire near NE 24th Avenue and Englewood Drive.
Upon arrival, heavy fire was found on the inside and outside of the home.
The fire was considered under control just after 7:00 a.m.
No injuries were reported. Two dogs were reported missing but were found safe.
