Around 2,000 trees were planted across the emirates of Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) in a bid to protect the environment from global warming.
The annual tree planting campaign called “For Our Emirates We Plant” was conducted by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) on Sunday (December 20).
The response to the campaign was overwhelming, as 641 entities, including 92 companies, 36 schools, 56 individuals and 184 families took part.

Dubai Investments collects 3.5 tons of recyclable waste
DUBAI, 15th December, 2020 (WAM) Dubai Investments joined Emirates Environmental Group’s Clean Up UAE 2020 campaign and facilitated the collection of 3.5 tons of recyclable waste at a clean-up site located within Dubai Investments Park (DIP).
As a sponsor of the campaign, more than 150 volunteers including Dubai Investments employees participated in the initiative.
Hosted annually by Emirates Environmental Group, the campaign is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and brings together each year, since 2002, an increasing number of volunteers from all sectors of society to clean diverse areas across the UAE.
MOCCAE joins International Union for Conservation of Nature as state member
DUBAI, 14th December, 2020 (WAM) The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) has joined the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as a state member, announced Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, following a confirmation of the ministry’s membership application by the IUCN.
