His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah inaugurated the 12th edition of the Sharjah Children s Reading Festival (SCRF) on Wednesday.
Organised by Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), and themed ‘For Your Imagination’, the 12th edition of the region’s largest festival of its kind, runs until May 29 at Sharjah Expo Centre.
The 11-day festival open to visitors from 4:00pm – 10:00pm, excluding Saturdays from 10:00am – 8:00pm, will host the 9th edition of the Sharjah Children s Book Illustration Exhibition, and in-person and online literary discussions by 32 participating authors from 15 countries.

A new office will be built for the Emirates Publishers Association (EPA), according to a new directive issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The headquarters will be situated near the Expo Centre Sharjah. Senior EPA officials welcomed the directive, saying it reflect’s the Sharjah Ruler’s “unwavering support to the local publishing sector”. They noted that the office will provide the association with an ideal environment to realise its goals and strategies, which have been set to serve Sharjah and the UAE.
Sharjah Ramadan Majlis turns spotlight on the role of culture

Continuing its tradition of celebrating the spirit of dialogue during the holy month of Ramadan, Sharjah Ramadan Majlis launched its forth session on Wednesday ( 28 April), under the title “ Culture and building youth’s awareness”, aimed at turning spotlight on the role of culture in promoting youth’s awareness.
Hosted by Sharjah Press Club of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, the fourth session of the immensely ongoing popular event was headlined by Sheikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities; Rashid Mohammed Al Kous, Executive Director of Emirates Publishers Association. The session was moderated by Sheikha Al Mutairi.
Sharjah Ruler meets members of Emirates Writers Union, Emirates Publishers Association

His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, announced the Emirates Writers Union and the Emirates Publishers Association will have their own dedicated building near the Expo Centre, Sharjah.
This came as Dr Sheikh Sultan addressed a meeting for the two unions today at the headquarters of the Sharjah Book Authority.
