Covid deaths cause for caseload surge at Westmoreland coroner s office

Westmoreland County Coroner Ken Bacha said a meteoric 21% increase in the office’s caseload last year was fueled by coronavirus death investigations. The statistics detailing the sharp increase to 3,523 cases in 2020 compared to 2,906 cases in 2019 was included in Bacha’s annual report released Monday. Deputy Coroner Josh Zappone said last year’s caseload was the highest in office history. Bacha said the spike in investigations “was definitely due to the number of covid-19 cases.” Through Monday, Bacha’s office reported 440 confirmed deaths for 2020, based on the decedent’s place of death being in Westmoreland County. The state department of health, which reported 736 Westmoreland deaths as of Monday, bases its statistics on residential addresses rather than place of death.

Suicidal Man Jumps Off Downtown San Diego Building, Kills Bystander – NBC 7 San Diego

Updated 15 mins ago Rory Devine/NBC 7 An innocent bystander was killed in downtown San Diego Sunday night when a man who died by suicide jumped off a building and hit her as she walked on the sidewalk beneath the building, police confirmed. The “unfortunate occurrence,” according to SDPD Officer John Buttle, happened just before 7:30 p.m. near a parking garage along the 400 block of 10 th Avenue. They maintained respect for The Crown in telling their experiences, sharing their story in a passive voice and not naming anyone in a derogatory manner. The thing that bubbled to the top for me was Meghan’s description of her deteriorating mental well being while in England and the total lack of resources available to her. Coming from the mental health world, I m appalled that getting mental health care was impossible from inside the royal family even when Meghan disclosed having suicidal thoughts. Since going public with Oprah, her experience has been minimized and even denied by some reporters and others close to the royal family.
