The White House released list of individuals that President Trump intends to appoint to key administration posts. Utahn Greg Smith is on the list and is slated to become the U.S. Commissioner of the Upper Colorado River Commission. No Senate confirmation is needed. Smith, a graduate of Brigham Young University (BYU),
got his start in politics while living in Utah.
As a student at BYU, Greg built a coalition and successfully lobbied for passage of legislation preventing Utah public pension funds from beinginvested in foreign companies doing business in Iran’s petroleum sector. Greg received national recognition for these efforts, including the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) Student Advocate of the Year Award in both 2009 and 2011.
