At its regular meeting Monday night, the Brighton Board of Education heard many parents â including several who live in the Howell and Pinckney School districts - speak on the topic of requiring that children wear protective masks in school.
The board is back to a virtual format in line with state mandates; therefore, those who commented did so virtually. A total of 21 people commented - 13 of them opposed to the mandate requiring that Brighton children wear masks in the classroom. Those opposed to the requirement gave detailed reasons why they are opposed, such as their child having a medical problem that made wearing the masks difficult. Others who commented were either supportive of the school district and the steps it has taken to ensure that kids wear masks in school, or addressed the board on other issues.
Some women are reporting temporary changes in their menstrual cycles after taking their dose of the COVID vaccine.
Anecdotal evidence from women worldwide had raised questions about whether the COVID vaccine affects menstrual cycles, ABC 7 Chicago reported. I had my 1st COVID-19 vaccine in January followed by the 2nd in February, and since then I have had hemorrhagic bleeding with clots. This month of April was the heaviest, one woman wrote in a social media post.
Another woman said: My period has been the lightest in years for the past 2 cycles. Was beginning to wonder if I was pushed into pre-menopause.

DEAR MAYO CLINIC: I am a teacher at a middle school who is teaching students in person. I have been vigilant about following safety guidelines, but now that I am pregnant, I worry even more about contracting COVID-19 and the risk to my baby. Our state is opening up COVID-19 vaccines to educators, and I am wondering whether it is safe for me to be vaccinated for COVID-19?
New bill in the Missouri House would force women to bury or cremate aborted fetuses
April 28, 2021
The Missouri GOP, led by Rep. Hannah Kelly (R-District 141), introduced HB 431, or the “Safeguarding All Children’s Remains to Ensure Dignity Act.” The Act would, among other things, force a person having an abortion to either hold a funeral for or cremate the aborted fetus.
The bill is the same as HB 2402, also sponsored by Kelly, that was proposed in 2020 but is not currently scheduled to be heard in the House.
Kelly who describes herself as “one hundred percent pro-life” sponsored the bill to enact even stricter regulations on Missouri women. Missouri currently requires a 72-hour waiting period for women to get an abortion.
