St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum to receive hundreds of thousands of dollars for preservation and repairs.
The 165-foot lighthouse, now 146 years old, is a Smithsonian affiliate and accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. Each year, 216,000 people visit the museum, operated by staff and 266 volunteers.

The Museum of Neon Art to reopen on May 1st premiering an exhibition

.- After over a year of closure the Museum of Neon Art will reopen on April 24th to members and May 1st to general audiences. Visitors will get the first view of MONAs new exhibition, 40 Years of Light: Works From The Collection and Collective, which showcases an impressive range of pioneering light-based artwork from the MONA permanent collection and community, as well as a selection of MONAs historic sign collection. In lieu of MONAs usual tour and long form programs, the museum will offer several bite size educational experiences during the opening weekends - from hands on glass bending, to show and tells of vintage technology, and object spotlights in the galleries.

Chilean union federation issues strike call over pay demands
Chile’s Workers Unitary Central (CUT) labor federation called for a nationwide strike for April 30, the day before International Workers Day, to press for a wage rise and other demands. The call followed an April 15 CUT National Extended Council meeting of some 200 union officials.
The demands that will be put forward in the strike include a 500,000 peso (US$711) emergency rent payment, a freeze on food prices and a minimum monthly wage of 500,000 pesos. Most activities from nonattendance at telework sites to hanging of flags for victims of COVID-19,
