Bowers Museum Provides Hunger Relief, Virtual Online Programming

For the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana the powers of art provide healing and solace even in these trying times.
Though the museum is closed for now, they have creatively implemented hunger relief and gone virtual online to serve others during the pandemic. Their efforts include having provided 23,193 meals to frontline medical and emergency personnel, low-income children, families, seniors and the homeless. Additionally, they also provided 1,148 bags of groceries and 1,527 art kits to low-income children and seniors. In 2021, the museum plans to offer free groceries to their low-income afterschool families from Santa Ana.

WASHINGTON - Officials at the Museum of the Bible said Wednesday they are considering suing D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, D, over the city s latest round of coronavirus restrictions, saying they prevent the museum s employees from exercising their religious freedom and its visitors from possibly having a religious experience.
The plan to pursue legal action comes after an order by Bowser on Dec. 18 said museums and indoor dining in the District must close from Dec. 23 to Jan. 15, which includes the season of Advent and Christmas, a normally busy time for the museum. Grand Rapids planetarium to reopen

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â The Grand Rapids Public Museum (GRPM) announced today that the Roger B. Chaffee Planetarium will reopen and welcome visitors on a limited capacity basis starting on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020.
The Chaffee Planetarium will host multiple shows per week. The schedule beginning this week will include the holiday show, Let it Snow, as well as other shows Incoming!, Under Starlit Skies and Ice Worlds.
Planetarium tickets are $2 for Museum members, $4 each with general admission to the Museum and $5 each for planetarium only tickets.
