Mohammad Abbasi, who teaches at the CUNY School of Professional Studies, delivered the remarks in a June 25 sermon at the Islamic Center of Union City, N.J. Two of the country’s largest teachers’ unions refuse to mandate COVID-19 vaccinations for their members, even as public schools require vaccinations for their students.
The National Education Association (NEA) and American Federation of Teachers (AFT) are pushing against mandatory teacher vaccinations as the 2021-22 school year approaches, instead asking for weekly testing and other alternatives. But public universities such as the University of Indiana and California state schools are alreadyforcing students to vaccinate before returning to campus for instruction.

The strike by 1,100 coal miners against Warrior Met Coal in Brookwood, Alabama will reach the end of its fourth month on August 1, the longest strike by United Mine Workers of America members since the strike against Pittston Coal in 1989-90.

The miners walked out on April 1 to demand the reversal of $6-an-hour wage cut and other concessions the UMWA agreed to in 2016. Warrior Met has seen profits rise along with the demand by global steel producers for metallurgical coal and it will be announcing its second-quarter profits in a few weeks.

Next, he showed how
somebody went online after the fact, in order to change the status of the Indian study to show it as “revised,” as if it hadn’t been rejected by scientists in peer review.
“Even worse,” Crenshaw asserted, “the study followed healthcare workers vaccinated with a vaccine not allowed in the US.”
Let’s be clear: the questionable study didn’t examine vaccines available in the United States, so it’s not an apples-to-apples comparison.

La Joya Independent School District is investing in a new air quality system to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and keep students and staff safe.
The faculty and staff at La Joya ISD are gearing up for a safe return to campus for all students by including the purchase of carbon dioxide sensors for two schools: Tabasco Elementary and John F. Kennedy Elementary.
