Colorado College Heads to SCAC Championship Match

Isabelle Aragon-Menzel ’21 ran the Colorado College attack to near perfection as the No. 1-ranked Tigers advanced to the championship match of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament with a 25-9, 25-11, 25-12 demolition of Austin College on Saturday afternoon at Reid Arena. Top-seeded CC advances to the title match for the fourth year in a row and will play host to Trinity University in the championship match of the SCAC Tournament at noon, Saturday, May 1, in a battle of the top two teams in the conference as well as the American Volleyball Coaches Association s Division III Top-25 Coaches Poll.

PROVO BYU men s volleyball coach Shawn Olmstead was ready for a long day Thursday.
It was the opening day of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men s volleyball tournament. And while the Cougars didn t have a match or even a semifinal opponent to be prepared for, they did have plenty to do.
As part of the rules established by the conference, the remaining winners of seeds 2-7 will essentially be re-bracketed following the first round, with top-seeded BYU playing the lowest remaining seed available in Friday s late semifinal (7 p.m. MDT, FloVolleyball).

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Florida State Volleyball middle blockers Taryn Knuth and Emma Clothier earned the distinction of being recognized as All-Americans, announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
Knuth was named a Third Team All-American by the AVCA, making her a three-time All-American at FSU while earning her first non-honorable mention honor. The Johnston, Iowa, native was a freshman All-American in 2017 and an honorable mention recipient in 2018.
Clothier earns her first All-America accolade in just her second playing season at FSU, being named an honorable mention All-American.

KALAMAZOO, MI - The last time Western Michigan produced an All-American volleyball player, the Broncos were more than halfway through a seven-year streak of Mid-American Conference championships.
While the 2021 team fell just short of capturing another conference title, the Broncos did make some history by fielding their first All-American in 33 years.
The American Volleyball Coaches Coaches Association announced Wednesday its 2021 All-American teams, and WMU’s Rachel Bontrager garnered honorable mention recognition after a record-setting senior season.
