With environmental consciousness and sustainability in mind, Greensboro, N.C.-based Burlington Performance Fabrics has launched PF Zero™, a non-fluorocarbon-based repellent finish for high-performance apparel fabrics. The eco-friendly, water-based technology is durable, breathable, comfortable and odorless, according to Burlington.
The technology is being launched across multiple business and has been introduced to numerous brands. The finish is suitable for any application where water repellent protection is required including outerwear, rainwear, snow sports, and golf, among other applications. The technology also is available for use on personal protective equipment fabrics and flame-resistant materials such as fire turnout gear. In addition, PF Zero is in development for use in uniform and military fabrics.

Victor J. Christopher Jr., 97, of Meadow Street, Broadalbin, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany, with family at his side.
Born and raised in Broadalbin, NY, he was the oldest native in the village, and now bequeaths this title to Alex Klymkow.
Vic was born in Broadalbin, on December 2, 1923, a son of Victor and Clara Crannell Christopher and was a 1940 graduate of Broadalbin Central School. After graduation, he enrolled at Union College in Schenectady and in 1942, he enlisted in the AAC aviation cadet program. During World War II, Vic served as a weather officer, an air field tower control officer, and an airways flight control officer. He graduated from Union College in 1947 with a degree in chemistry, but technically was a member of the class of 1944.

On Dec. 9 and 10, the PRINTING United Alliance and American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) hosted the annual Digital Textile Printing Conference, two days packed with speakers taking a closer look at technical details and considerations for this segment of the market.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia December 17, 2020 CSA testing has confirmed that Aim-X Canada surgical masks are easy to breathe through and isolation gowns are quality products that Canadians can depend on for COVID-19 protection.
“We’re happy with the results,” said Aim-X Canada Enterprises Ltd. CEO H. Hassan. “Samples of our three-Ply Disposable Tri-fold Level 1 non-medical masks and Level 1 Isolation Gowns have passed industry standard tests for medical PPE.”
This confirms the company can deliver quality products manufactured by Aim-X Global to medical facilities, governments, and the public. CSA Certificates of Attestation are available upon request.
Sample masks sent to CSA were tested against the ASTM F2100 Standard Specification for Performance of Materials Used in Medical Faces Masks. This is the standard in North America for masks in the Medical Industry.
