December 12, 2020 Nora E. Adams CHESHIRE – Nora Elizabeth (Daniel) Adams, 97, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020, at her home. Mrs. Adams was born on July 4, 1923 in Alberta, Va., a daughter of the late Peter Morris Daniel and Jeannetta Virginia (Roberts) Daniel. She served in the Navy during World War II. She was one of the first women accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES). Following the end of World War II, she attended the University of Connecticut under the GI Bill. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in business administration. She then received a teaching certificate. She earned several advanced degrees during her nearly 35 years as an elementary school teacher in the Meriden School District and as the district reading consultant in the Cheshire School District. Her retirement job was assisting her husband with his accounting practice.
