Community Invited to 34th Annual Media for Red Cross Blood Drive
Helping to save lives is a Gulf Coast tradition since 1988
BILOXI, Miss. (May 21, 2021) Since 1988, the American Red Cross has partnered with local media to help maintain a substantial summer blood supply. The community is invited to celebrate summer and help save lives at the 34rd annual Media for Red Cross Blood Drive Tuesday, June 21 through Saturday, June 23 at multiple locations on the Gulf coast. All presenting blood donors will receive a Red Cross T-shirt and other special treats, while supplies last!

The Red Cross urges those who feel healthy to make it a summer full of life by donating blood. Your donation helps ensure blood remains available for patients who rely on transfusions.

WALLINGFORD, CT The Red Cross and other blood donation organizations are working to bolster the country s blood supply as the pandemic wanes.
Those who give blood, platelets or plasma through the Red Cross in May will be entered for a chance to win a travel trailer camper that sleeps five from Suburban Propane. The Red Cross will also give donors a T-shirt between May 28 and June 13 while supplies last.
Actor James Van Der Beek and his wife, Kimberly, are urging people to donate blood this summer. Kimberly Van Der Beek needed blood transfusions in the past year after she experienced back-to-back pregnancy losses.

Individuals of all blood types are urged to schedule an appointment now to give blood, and in most cases, those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine can donate. However, knowing the name of the manufacturer of the vaccine they received is important in determining donation eligibility. Appointments can be made by downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or enabling the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device.
In thanks for making it a summer full of life, those who come to give blood, platelets or plasma in May will automatically be entered for a chance to win a travel trailer camper that sleeps five , powered by Suburban Propane, via their SuburbanCares initiative. The Red Cross is also thanking those who come to donate May 28-June 12 with a limited-edition T-shirt, while supplies last.
