Photo: Justin Sullivan/Getty Images President Biden’s $2.3 trillion infrastructure plan would supercharge an already booming clean-power sector by expanding subsidies and addressing key bottlenecks impeding the shift to a greener grid. The plan, unveiled Wednesday, calls for the creation of a new tax credit to support the construction of high-voltage transmission lines, a major roadblock for the build-out of renewable energy.

US green lobby group bolsters top team

The American Clean Power Association has made two new senior appointments as part of an ongoing transformation of its executive leadership team. Rod O’Connor joins ACP as Chief Commercialization and Engagement Officer where he’ll spearhead the long-term research and development strategy to identify, vet, and launch new products and services that diversify and expand the association’s offerings. Additionally, he’ll oversee the Meetings & Education and Member Value divisions. O’Connor is President of the ROC Group where he advises leaders in business, government, and politics through strategic transitions. He has recently served as an Executive Producer for the 2021 Presidential Inaugural, a policy advisor for the recent Presidential transition.
