(Seguin) – Texas Lutheran’s Larry Schaffer and Kelly Wolfe each received major Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer awards on Wednesday.
Schaffer was named the SCAC Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year, and Wolfe picked up the SCAC’s Women’s Soccer Newcomer of the Year award.
Wolfe also was named to the All-SCAC Honorable Mention squad and to the All-Freshman Team.
Joining Wolfe and Schaffer with SCAC honors were: senior defender Mariela Candelario, junior forward Samantha Martinez, junior midfielder Monique Sierra, and first-year forward Saibree Marchand-Simons.
NCAA & NJCAA OTF National Athletes of the Week (May 4)
NEW ORLEANS – National Athletes of the Week for May 4 were announced on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
Here are those individuals who earned national honors from the USTFCCCA for their efforts during the continuing outdoor track & field season.
NCAA Division I Men – Turner Washington, Arizona State
NCAA Division I Women – Tara Davis, Texas
NCAA Division II Men – Isaac Harding, Grand Valley State
NCAA Division II Women – Chelsea Walker, Christian Bros.
NCAA Division III Men – Jayden Sloan, McMurry
NCAA Division III Women – Emily Pomainville, SUNY Geneseo
RICHARDSON – The American Southwest Conference announced Monday the 2020-21 volleyball All-Conference awards, and Howard Payne University’s Mya Ross was honored as a second-team All-Conference selection.
Ross led the Lady Jackets in points scored (208), kills (180), blocks (27), and digs (175). She had a career-high 18 kills versus Jarvis Christian. Ross was named ASC Player of The Week once this season and is HPU’s Tammy Patillo Memorial award winner.
