CHILLICOTHE, OH (March 4, 2021) â The Adena Regional Medical Center (ARMC) Laboratory has again received a two-year accreditation from the Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). The accreditation is based on results of a recent on-site inspection.
âAs far as lab accreditations go, CAP is the highest accreditation a laboratory can receive,â said Adam McGonigle, Director of Laboratory Services. âThere are thousands of regulatory requirements that we are held to. By going through CAP, we know that we are providing the best quality service we can for our patients and providers.â
With this recognition, ARMCâs Lab â which during the 2020 portion of the Coronavirus pandemic added about 4,300 COVID-19 tests each month to its usual heavy patient test load â remains one of only about 8,000 CAP-accredited facilities worldwide.
