But they also warn of another threat to hard-fought gains in recent weeks – the number of Americans getting tested for coronavirus has dropped significantly since January. While the testing slowdown may be the result of fewer infections, it also might signal too many Americans are growing complacent as the second year of COVID-19 marches on and millions get vaccinated every week.  

Adena Regional Medical Center Laboratory Receives CAP Accreditation

CHILLICOTHE, OH (March 4, 2021) – The Adena Regional Medical Center (ARMC) Laboratory has again received a two-year accreditation from the Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). The accreditation is based on results of a recent on-site inspection. “As far as lab accreditations go, CAP is the highest accreditation a laboratory can receive,” said Adam McGonigle, Director of Laboratory Services. “There are thousands of regulatory requirements that we are held to. By going through CAP, we know that we are providing the best quality service we can for our patients and providers.” With this recognition, ARMC’s Lab – which during the 2020 portion of the Coronavirus pandemic added about 4,300 COVID-19 tests each month to its usual heavy patient test load – remains one of only about 8,000 CAP-accredited facilities worldwide.
