Some were more inspired than others. The Indy 500 is big on tradition, and in 1936, Louis Meyer cooled down with a tall glass of buttermilk after winning the race. A new tradition was born, though in the modern era, drivers are given a glass of cow s milk of their choice. The American Dairy Association Indiana provides milk for the winners, and each driver choses in advance what kind of milk they ll receive in victory lane. Most drivers pick whole milk, but others are a bit more inspired.
