During the village board meeting Tuesday night, trustees voted to provide $75,000 in financial assistance to cover sewer costs and other incentives for the construction of a Dollar Tree store at 6519 Godfrey Road across from Walmart. The 10,000-square-foot store will be built by American Realty & Development of Belle, Missouri. Jim Mager, Godfrey Director of Economic Development, said he was approached by the company a little over a year ago with the idea to build the store. As of now, there is not a set date for when the company will break ground.
