Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - The American Constellation, a small cruise ship from American Cruise Lines, has been docked in Juneau since this past weekend after an outbreak of COVID-19 onboard.
The cluster is currently at 10 individuals. Four of that number are isolating in Petersburg and six in Juneau. All are in isolation or quarantine at the direction of public health authorities.
The risk to the public is considered low.
Last Friday, the Constellation decided to end their voyage and head to Juneau after two vaccinated and one non-vaccinated person tested positive. Since then, seven more cases have been discovered.
Unvaccinated crew members of the ship are quarantining or isolating onboard while it is docked in Juneau. All passengers were fully vaccinated, and those who were not close contacts or positive traveled home once they arrived in Juneau.
