(Bloomberg) With some countries in Asia starting to frame Covid-19 as a disease that needs to be managed rather than stamped out, thereâs hope 2021 may not be the total travel writeoff feared a few months ago.
Speaking in parliament earlier this week, Singapore Finance Minister Lawrence Wong said that while the coronavirus is unlikely to go away any time soon, rising vaccination rates and improving treatments mean it can be thought of âmore like influenza.â Similarly, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has promised a ânew dealâ that would shift the countryâs strategy from suppressing the coronavirus to managing it.

American Airlines Group Inc. has rebuffed earlier reports that the two explosions at Brussels international airport on Tuesday happened next to its check-in desk.
Reports say bombs went off close to the American Airlines check in desk and a second bomb close to an airport Starbucks store.
The air carrier said its check-in is at row 8 in the Zaventem airport departure hall, and that the explosions did not occur at row 8.
The airline has canceled flight 751 from Brussels to Philadelphia on Tuesday after the blasts, thought to be retaliation for the capture of Paris terror suspect Salah Abdeslam.
