We re not going to sugarcoat it: There wasn’t a whole lot going on in music news this year that wasn’t actually bad, sad and sadder news. Music coverage in 2020 consisted largely of pandemic trends, venue updates and obituaries. Some prepandemic stories, however, were reader favorites throughout the year suggesting that we (unsurprisingly) clung to nostalgia for communal experiences like attending concerts, playing exciting games of “the floor is spilled beer” while wading our way through bars and training our eyesight by trying to watch the stage while stuck in long lines at venue restrooms.

Agents’ attempts to keep holds on dates through multiple time frames for a possible return have been mostly for naught, though. While places like Taiwan have seen arena shows return and Australia is proceeding with confidence into what looks to be a busy 2021, the specifics of what a comeback might look like in the U.S. still remain largely unclear.
With days remaining before the 2020-21 NBA season officially starts, several interesting trade ideas have surfaced. These include a three-way blockbuster deal involving the Sacramento Kings that would send Mitchell Robinson to the Boston Celtics and Buddy Hield to the New York Knicks. In the proposed scenario by Brad Dressler of

Daily Knicks, the Celtics would get Robinson, the Knicks would receive Hield, Richaun Holmes, and two second-round picks, and the Kings would acquire Julius Randle, Frank Ntilikina, and a lottery-protected 2021 first-round pick.
Dressler believes that if the deal pushes forward, it could help the Celtics, Knicks, and the Kings in fulfilling their needs and improving their roster.
