This morning (May 6), the Association of American Publishers (AAP) has announced that Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) is the recipient of the organization’s 2021 Award for Distinguished Public Service.
This is good news for those who will be attending the association’s annual meeting on June 2 when the senator will be given her award: Klobuchar is not only one of the most decisive voices in the Democratic choir of the moment but also has one of the better senses of humor on Capitol Hill, where intelligent laughs are direly needed.

Perhaps the most interesting points in the February edition of StatShot from the Association of American Publishers (AAP) is in that “digital acceleration” space the industry has followed throughout the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.
And what’s showing up in the February statistics is staying power, more than some might have expected.
The ‘International Copyright Framework’
Organizations and associations this year’s World Book and Copyright Day (Friday, April 23) and World Intellectual Property Day (Monday, April 26) have elicited, of course, statements responsive to and reflective of the impact of the still-ongoing coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. An event like the onslaught of this pathogen–which at this writing has killed 3,105,726 people worldwide–is this year understandably eliciting many comments of appreciation and support from non-governmental organizations and other service associations.
From the International Publishers Association (IPA), Friday’s statement opens saying, “On World Book and Copyright Day 2021, the International Publishers Association pays tribute to publishers’ unstinting, positive contribution to the world during a year in which our societies have faced unprecedented pressure.”
