Earlier this month, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced that arts and entertainment venues in New York could reopen at 33 percent capacity, with up to 100 masked and socially distanced people present at one time 150 if they all provided proof at the door of negative COVID-19 tests.
It isn’t known how much that picture will change by the fall, but while it awaits guidance, Rochester Broadway Theatre League is ramping up to present 2019-20 shows that had to be postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic and new productions for 2021-22.

The Sydney season of Hamilton officially kicks off this month, which means you can now register for the $10 ticket lottery. Woohoo.
Musical buffs will know that a handful of Broadway shows offer heavily discounted lottery tickets that you’d usually have to line up for. Basically you submit your name into a lottery drawing and if selected, you can purchase one or two discounted show tickets.

You may well have already streamed Hamilton on Disney+ since its hotly anticipated on-screen arrival in July 2020. However, for the uninitiated, allow us to give you a history lesson: what is Hamilton and why is it causing such a fuss?
What is Hamilton?
Officially titled Hamilton: An American Musical, it’s a musical theatre production. Specifically, one that tells the story of forgotten American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton and his ascent out of poverty and to power against the backdrop of the American War of Independence.
