PARMA: American teenager Coco Gauff
(pix) battled past Katerina Siniakova in three sets on Friday to set up a meeting with China’s Wang Qiang in the final of the WTA tournament in Parma.
Third seed Gauff won through 7-5, 1-6, 6-2 against 68th-ranked Siniakova in just over two hours to reach the second final of her career after Linz which she won in 2019.
Wang, seeded sixth, came from 1-5 down in the second set and saved three set points against American Sloane Stephens for a 6-2, 7-6 (7/3) win in 1hr 46min.

Parma : , May 21 (IANS) American Coco Gauff and China s Wang Qiang reached their maiden clay-court WTA final when they secured hard-fought wins against their respective opponents at the inaugural Emilia-Romagna Open on Friday.
World No. 30 Coco needed three sets to get past Czech Republic s Katerina Siniakova 7-5, 1-6, 6-2 in a high-quality encounter, while Wang, ranked 48th in the world, came from 1-5 down in the second set and saved three set points against American Sloane Stephens for a 6-2, 7-6(3) win.

Bucharest [Romania], May 21 (ANI): Former French Open champion Simona Halep on Friday announced that she has withdrawn from this year s tournament as she is still recovering from a calf injury.
The Romanian tennis player vowed to be back in the French Open in 2022 as she has shifted her focus on recovering and staying positive. It is with a heavy heart that I announce my withdrawal from @rolandgarros this year. Unfortunately, the tear in my left calf needs more time to recover and the timeline is just too short. Withdrawing from a Grand Slam goes against all my instincts and aspirations as an athlete, Halep said in a tweet.
