The annual cicadas, also known as dog-day cicadas, rise up every year. They get their name because they happen to appear during the hottest time in the summer, the dog days . They are bigger, meatier and louder than the Brood Xers.

It s always cool when there is something near and dear to our hearts in Buffalo and Western New York that makes national news elsewhere. Buffalo is the biggest small town that you will probably ever come across and it s because we re so proud of the community here.
In case you missed the news earlier this week, the West Seneca Police Department were called to a home where a family dog named Buttercup was trapped under the house that was located on Clinton Street.
The rescue effort took multiple officers and they even needed to create a bigger hole in order to get to Buttercup, because the space just wasn t big enough to reach.
One of the best summertime activities is swimming. It’s fun and refreshing. Hitting the pool is a great way to cool off when it’s super-hot outside. Also, there are tons of health benefits too. I like swimming because it’s less impact on your joints, builds endurance, is refreshing, and I get to meet new people.
